Go to work on an egg to help protect your heart?

A study published online in the journal Heart found that eating an egg a day may help aid against cardiovascular disease.

This was an interesting study as it included more than 400,000 adults aged between 30 and 79. The researchers tracked the participants health for nearly 9 years using various sources. People who reported moderate egg consumption, e.g. one a day, were less likely than non-egg eaters to develop cardiovascular disease and other related events such as stroke.

The researchers found that people who eat an egg a day had an 18% lower risk of dying from cardiovascular disease than people who did not consume eggs. It was also found that people who ate an egg daily had a 28% lower risk of dying from stroke.

Surely it’s no ‘eggaggeration’ to say these results are remarkable!
